The office culture can have a big impact on employee productivity and company’s bottom line. An organisation’s culture is defined as a way of life that encompasses beliefs and behaviour. In an organisation, many subcultures exist among teams and departments. A good workplace design will thus integrate these subcultures into the organisational culture to further company goals and visions. Workplace design can enhance the interactions and connections workers have with one another as well as help them to better identify with the company’s visions and direction. The impact of workplace design on culture is hence significant as it serves as a contributor to employee motivation and hence performance in the workplace. To come up with a workplace solution, the management has to identify the culture and then explore workplace strategies through aesthetics and spatial designs among others to portray it.
